LA Casita in Richmond

Awesomesauce Mexican restaurant! Hidden gem that I didn't know Richmond had since the 80's. The staff is very helpful & friendly in this unique original interior. The sauces are spicy for me nonetheless they're all made. I got the dinner combination veggie style & didn't miss the meat. We'll be back to try more options on the menu! Great job La Casita!

True customer service !! Edgar is the best, well maybe 2nd best to the fresh PASSION FRUIT margarita. The food is delicious with 3 great sauces to add to the chips :) Can't say enough great things about Richmond's original mexican restaurant!! A++

I have been going to this restaurant for 30yrs. I hadn't been in quite awhile but it hasn't changed a bit since the last time I went. It has great food and friendly staff.

I visited this place back in December and I really loved it! I have eaten at a lot of restaurants in Richmond however, this by far takes the cake on having the best service. I recommend the Mexican pizza for appetizer. Can’t wait to go back after quarantine is lifted.

I love, love La Casita and have been going there for over 20 years. Their food is outstanding, fresh and delicious. Especially the Alicia Delight, my favorite. The white sauce is incredible and the chips are always fresh. Great place.

Very unique Mexican place! They have your standard dishes but with fresh ingredients. They make their own margarita mix, their own salsa, and their own chips. Just beware that since this is the case you have to pay for any chip refills. Love the atmosphere and decor.

Pretty good food to be found here and fantastic service. Not too expensive and you get decently sizeable portions. The place is a bit on the smaller side, and the bathrooms are tiny, so if that's an issue plan accordingly. Staff here is super nice and quick, and made sure we had everything we needed.

Asked for hard shell and got soft shell. Still, it was delicious.

I'm always on the hunt for an authentic Mexican restaurant and today I found a wonderful hole in the wall. I ordered a tamale, a chile relleno and a side of guacamole. Not only very good food but the server/manager Edgar was awesome. I asked for a home made hot sauce he brought me their green salsa although not the hottest it definitely had a great kick and very tasty and fresh. Thank you for being here we will be back!

This has become our favorite Mexican spot in Richmond. Great food and giant reasonably priced Margaritas. We love the lights and decor as it moves away from the cliche decor of most Mexican places. La casita is hidden gem in a forgotten part of town. The waiters are kind and helpful. Speedy wait times. Don’t miss it!

The inside is so festive and the staff is super friendly. The food is incredible! I am a vegetarian and my husband is not. This was our first time here so Edgar offered many suggestions and even offered to make something if we're didn't see it on the menu! Chatted with some of the other customers while we were there and had the most enjoyable time. It feels like we were having dinner at the house of a good friend! Thanks for the wonderful food and hospitality, see you soon amigos..... and next time we're leaving room for the sopapillas! :)

We’ve lived in the area for almost three years and finally made it to La Casita this month. It will absolutely be our new spot for Mexican food. The vibe was perfect and fun. The margaritas were wonderful - not overpowering with sweet/sour mix. Just perfect. Our food was top notch. We got a chicken/chorizo quesadilla and steak tacos. Both dishes were extremely authentic. Our server, Edgar, was very inviting, genuine and attentive. We had the best time! We will be bringing friends back with us to share in this experience.

Cool decor, Mexican version of shenanigans. Amazing food. Maybe skip the speedy Gonzalez, go for the Verdes enchiladas or Michoacano burrito. The salsa(in background with the margarita picture) and white sauce with chips are absolutely amazing. Good drinks, try the Cactus Berry margarita (pictured) and pose out front with the cardboard cutout after.

Wonderful little place! I loved their food. I took a taco salad with meat, guacamole and lots of lettuce and a coffee. It was the perfect lunch I was looking for. The waiter and other staff were fun! It was a very nice surprise as I drove very many time by this restaurant without stopping!

This has always been one of my favorite places....they food is almost always top tier, well seasoned and very flavorful and hefty portions.The seasonings are fantastic as are the various sauces.I have been coming here for over 35 years.This would be easily a five star, but as of late the service can be hit or miss with higher turn over in servers.Also, be sure to come plenty of time before they clothes...as of late, they seem to shut down the establishment around you near closing time.

This place is authentic. Everything down to their chips and tortillas are made in house. The service is responsive and friendly. I have never been disappointed by any dishes. I highly recommend this spot.

Tried a two new items tonight. Strawberry margherita and the beef enchiladas.Best margherita I have had there. And the enchiladas were fantastic! I've had the brown sauce before, which I've always liked. Tonight it had a spicy, bolder flavor. Same with the white sauce.Very happy and will be back again soon!

I have been coming here for nearly 15 years and the food just keeps getting better. Service is fantastic (Edgar is awesome!) and the prices are very reasonable. There is something about this place that feels authentic and old world at the same time - you absolutely can't beat it in Richmond!

First time going here with my family and upon walking in, I was in love! Cute and charming, beautiful decoration inside. The service was exceptional, hardly had to wait and the food was also very good! My kids were given a candy treat on the way out too. ❤We will definitely be back!

hands down, the best mexican food in richmond, va – especially in terms of authenticity. GET THE WHITE SAUCE, unlike any other. they use a lot of family recipes. also, the lights inside are fantastic !

Love this place. Parents use to take us when we were kids. Went there today and evergthing is the same. Great food Great service. Oh and they have the best white sauce.
